| Metal spinning involves the forming
of various metals into circular shapes, such as seals, combustion
liners, or compressor rings, using a rotating mandrel with the
use of rigid tools or rollers. There are three basic types of
spinning processes: conventional (manual), shear and tube spinning. |

| The equipment is basically similar to a lathe
with various special features. Metal spinning has a distinct
advantage over stamping for many applications, due to its economical
use. |
